Celebrate the International Day of Peace and World Music Festival Chicago 2016, with a day of free family-friendly activities and a procession to Humboldt Park Boat House for the festival.

Hands-on Maker Stations

11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Milwaukee/Leavitt  and Ridgeway Trailhead.

Write odes to peace and make flags with Opera-Matic, make maracas and panderos with Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center, silkscreen peace t-shirts with Spudnik Press and print peace signs with Tandem Felix.

Procession, Part 1

12:30-1 p.m. Milwaukee/Leavitt and Ridgeway Trailhead to Humboldt Overlook
The Four Star Brass Band and Los Hermanos del Tambor will lead processions to the Humboldt Overlook.

The 606 Moves! Project

1 p.m. Humboldt Overlook
Take part in “flash mob” style dance led by The 606’s artists in residence.

Procession, Part II

1:15-2 p.m. Humboldt Overlook to Humboldt Boat House
Funkadesi will lead everyone to the World Music Festival and Global Peace Picnic.
